Your Tanzania safari starts with pickup from your Arusha Hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport at 0800 hrs. After the introduction and briefing drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park plays host to the Big Five, Tanzania’s largest concentration of elephants, and plenty of bird species. This enchanting park is renowned for its striking landscapes and expansive baobab tree-studded savannah featuring its majestic Tarangire River. The Tarangire river serves as a lifeline for the park attracting an array of wildlife. In the late afternoon, you’ll exit the park and proceed to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Drive further the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park set beneath the cliffs of the Manyara Escarpment. This park is famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions and the vast elephant herds. With its varied ecosystems, you will see forest creatures, large baboon troops in addition to other animals like giraffes and elephants. Vast flamingo populations dot the lakeshore and interact with an array of bird species.

This day starts with an early breakfast at your hotel followed by a drive through Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park. Enjoy game drives enroute arriving at your hotel on time for lunch followed by another afternoon game drive. Serengeti is wider and highly known for its massive annual migration of the wildebeest and zebras. The animals move from their breeding ground on the north side to the South part crossing through the Grumeti River.

Proceed with a full day game drive with packed lunch in Serengeti National Park. The park is known for its vast open grasslands that provide excellent opportunities for wildlife sightings. This 15,000 sq km park is inhabited by more than 2 million large animals including more than a million wildebeest. Hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, Thomson’s gazelles and large predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. These big cats are drawn to the area by the abundance of prey which migrate throughout the park. Many smaller animals like rock hyrax, bat eared foxes, mongoose, honey badger, jackals, baboons and hares also inhabit the park. Nearly 500 species of birds have also been recorded in the park.

After breakfast exit Serengeti National Park to the bordering Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descending down to the bottom of the crater, dotted with watering holes. The crater shelters almost 30,000 animals in an area naturally enclosed by the volcano’s slopes. You will find the Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. Ngorongoro has the largest unbroken caldera in the world, surrounded by very steep walls that rise 2,000 ft from the floor. It is considered one of the natural world’s wonders and a veritable wildlife haven. Spectacular animal life can be observed throughout the year, thanks to the permanent availability of grass and water. At around 1630hrs start ascending from the floor of the crater and drive to your Ngorongoro hotel.

Wake up early before sunrise, enjoy your breakfast then head out to Lake Eyasi. Upon arrival you will be met by our local guide whom you will follow until he finds the Hadzabe. The Hadzabe are a hunting community still practicing the ancient ways of getting food by using their traditional tools. On the other hand, you will explore the Datoga people who are still practising pastoralists and their traditional ways of life. After finishing the activities with the tribes, you will visit the beautiful Lake Eyasi, a shallow Salt Lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley.

After breakfast bid farewell to the beautiful Ngorongoro/Karatu area for Arusha with an optional visit to Maasai Village. At the Maasai Village you will have the opportunity to learn and interact with the local Maasai Community. Maasais are popular and better-known ethnic people in East Africa originating from areas surrounding Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks. You will arrive in Arusha around noon followed by a transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or your Arusha Hotel.
